Despite the deep freeze, the postponed annual meeting of the Orange County Historical Society was well attended. Society president Ray Ezell summarized last year’s achievements and committee reports, all of which are now available to the public on the Society’s website. “This place (the Research Center) has an open-door policy, for what we are the steward of,” said Ezell. “We’re the steward of the things within these walls for the community, and we provide free access to that.”
Following his report, incoming Board members, Katie Crawford-Lackey, C. Thomas Chapman, and Beverly Ingle were elected by acclamation. They replace outgoing Board members Margaret Hill, Darryle Crump, and Carla Passarello, whose terms had expired.
The first official action of the new board was the election of officers, with Ray Ezell continuing as President, Mark Hoerath as Vice President, James Luther as Treasurer, and May Saxton taking on the duties of Secretary.
